El ex futbolista portugués Paulo Futre, uno de los mayores ídolos de la historia del Atlético de Madrid, pronosticó que el colombiano Radamel Falcao triunfará en el Vicente Calderón y aseguró que tiene "más gol" que el argentino Sergio "Kun" Agüero.

Futre, que como Falcao pasó del Oporto al Atlético de Madrid, aunque 14 años antes, consideró que el club madrileño ha realizado "una gran contratación", a pesar de su alto precio: 40 millones de euros más siete de variables. "Hay que darle un periodo de adaptación (...) Si no tiene ninguna lesión, va a triunfar. Es un jugador de garra, de sangre, de carácter", resumió.

Falcao, de 25 años, es la mayor contratación de la historia del fútbol luso por los 40 millones que costó después de haber aterrizado en el Oporto hace dos años procedente del River Plate argentino a cambio de unos cinco millones de euros.

El internacional colombiano anotó en dos cursos 73 goles en 88 partidos y batió la pasada temporada con 18 dianas el récord anotador en la Liga Europa (antigua UEFA) que ostentaba el legendario internacional alemán Jürgen Klinsmann (1995-1996).
